With a history of more than seven decades, the Christian Tell Gorj County Library continues to be an important landmark in the life of the Gorj community. Until its establishment, through the donation of Alexandru Christian Tell in 1934, there were several initiatives to give life to public libraries in the Gorj area.
The public library leaves its mark on the life of the community, and the "Christian Tell" County Library is aware of its essential role. Precisely for that reason, its services have been permanently developed, the concern being to satisfy the needs of the public it addresses by enriching the collections, developing cultural programs and non-formal education intended for children, young people, seniors in the community.
