Dancing music

From the multitude of games, distinct from the past - "brâul", "târcolul", "ungurica", "șchioapa", "rustemul", "bordeiașul", "frunza" ... - the Gorj people have today only kept the most popular and widely circulated ones: "hora de mână" and "sârba".

Hora is linked to ritual acts during weddings, but also other occasions when communities feel the need to solidarity (or rather, tradition dictates that they should be in solidarity). Sârba is the energetic, explosive manifestation of this solidarity. All Gorj people play both of them flawlessly, anytime and anywhere, including in luxury restaurants in the city of Târgu Jiu. The music for the games is quite mixed.
