About
Izbucul Cernei guesthouse is located in Gorj county, Izvoarele Cernei, in the Domogled National Park.
Even if the guesthouse is located in the heart of the mountains and access is via a forest road, this is a true oasis where tourists are welcomed in 3-star conditions, in a warm and comfortable atmosphere, where they can enjoy the facilities offered and relax after a long and beautiful road through Valea Cernei - Domogled National Park.
The Domogled National Park is located at the south-western extremity of the Southern Carpathians, bordered to the west by the Godeanu Massif and the Cernei Mountains and to the east by the Valcanului and Mehedinti Mountains. It has an area of 61,211 ha, being the largest national park in Romania and also the only one that includes an entire hydrographic basin (of the Cerna river).
One of the oldest nature reserves in the country, established in 1932 - the Domogled Mountain Reserve, with an area of 1,194 ha, is located in Valea Cernei. The reserve was created primarily to protect the landscape and the flora (which presents a wide variety of endemic species), but later research also proved the importance of the fauna in the area. The Cerna valley takes the shape of a gorge for about 40 km.
General facilities: barbecue, garden, gazebo, terrace. The rooms have shower and TV.
The guesthouse has central heating, powered by alternative energy, and the rooms are fitted to the highest standards.
