Cheile Corcoaia, a nature reserve included in the Domogled-Valea Cernei National Park, is declared a protected area for habitat at the international level. The reservation, with an area of ​​34 hectares, is located in Gorj county, on the administrative territory of Padeş commune, Cerna-Sat village, in the Cerna valley, about 40 km upstream from Băile Herculane. The gorge can be reached on the unmodernized road that is in the extension of the road that leads to Cerna-Sat. The existing geomorphological formations here are of rare beauty, giving people the opportunity to explain the appearance of these magnificent landscapes through immortal legends.

The Corcoaia gorges were declared a nature reserve, being one of the most beautiful landforms in Valea Cernei. Particularly spectacular formations can be found in the gorges: marmites, lapiezuri, dissolution cavities. The Cheile Corcoaiei reserve houses a spectacular landscape. The beauty of the keys lies in the special geomorphological formations and the wonder of the landscapes.
