Valea lui Iovan lake or Iovanul is a reservoir made by damming the Cerna river downstream from the confluence with the Iovanul river, at an altitude of 685 m, between the southeastern peaks of the Godeanu massif and the northwestern peaks of the Mehedinți massif, in the valley Sieve.

The lake was formed behind the over 100 m high dam and has a total volume of 124 million m3, the surface is 292 ha, the maximum depth is 107 m. Valea lui Iovan Lake is part of the Domogled - Valea Cernei National Park.
