About
The Izvoarele Izvernei Nature Reserve is a nationally protected area located in Gorj county, in the administrative territory of Tismana. The natural reserve covers an area of over 500 hectares.
It was established in 1982 and it was declared as protected area only in 2000. The area represents a mixed type nature reserve with karst forms of relief (springs, gorges, lapiezuri, eruptions). The protected area also presents interest from the geological, floristic, faunistic and landscape point of view.
