About

The table of silence was started in 1937 and finalized in 1938.

It is made of stone, composed of two massive overlapping circular pieces. The leg is made of travertine from Câmpulung and the tabletop from Bampotoc - Deva.

Around the table there are 12 round hourglass shaped chairs at both ends, made of the same rock, symbolizing time.

The Table of Silence represents the low peasant table, specific to Gorjenesti villages, but also the table before the battle from which the future combatants and heroes leave for battle. The symbolism of the number of chairs, 12, is seen, on the one hand, as half the hours of a day, but also associated with the number of Christ's apostles.
