About
After the confluence of Sohodol and Valea Rea, we enter the most beautiful part, Cheile Pătrunsa. From here to Poiana Contului, where the Cheile Sohodolului ends, visitors can admire forms and phenomena that impress, such as the powerful Lelegele eruptions, coming from the heart of the mountain, absolutely vertical walls, caves with monumental entrances or oats with dizzying depths.
A large part of these are concentrated in the Pleşa mountain, nicknamed for the depths of its valleys the Vertical Great Mountains. The predominant limestones in the perimeter of the Sohodol Gorges show a high karst permeability, thanks to a well-developed system of cracks and underground galleries formed as a result of a long process of dissolution caused by meteoric waters and rivers. Through this karst system, waters infiltrate and circulate easily, giving birth to a multitude of phenomena.
Very much visited, but, unfortunately, extremely little known, the Sohodolului Gorges present a multitude of rare phenomena.
