It was built in 1802, and according to other sources, even before 1800 by the clucer Ianache Sâmboteanu, who from June 1812 until 1815 was head of the Gorj county administration. Cismeaua is located near the Water Castle.

In the century In the 19th century, three boots were known in Tg-Jiu: one in Ulița Șigăniei, another known as "La Mitu Antonescu" and the most important was Cişmeau Sâmboteanu.

Cismeau was repaired in 1868 by the merchants Ion Pătru and Matei Dănăricu, and in 1902 and 1984 by the Town Hall of Tg-Jiu. (Al. D. Serban - Personalities who were in Gorj).
