About

The wooden church in Gureni, Peștişani, was built in 1735. It has the patron saint "Cuvioasa Paraschiva" (October 14). The church is on the new list of historical monuments.

The church in itself constitutes a true historical document due to its great distance from the constructive background of the village, evidence of the process of the descent of the households to the valley. It is located in the quiet of the mountain, close to the Bistrița river, surrounded by the old cemetery of the village, in the shade of a huge linden tree, with a circumference of about 4 m.

The oak beams, finished in a dovetail or straight shape, inscribe a small rectangular nave (6 m/3.50 m), the altar being only slightly recessed, polygonal, with five sides.
